By K.D. Lyons
Silence rocks the house like an earthquake
But the only trembling comes from my lips
We hold our breath as we feel our foundations shake
Hiding from an evil we are too afraid to name
The quiet is the only currency we possess
That can ensure our futures together
And we must pray it is enough
Huddled together, blanketed in dreads
We dare not to speak
Never before have we felt so powerless,
So desperate, so fearful, and so weak
